June Book Club (updated)

Hello Book Clubbers,

This month’s book club will be June 24th @ 7. Put it on the calendar now, and plan that Lake Powell trip around it. ;)

This book is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I haven’t read it yet but it has excellent reviews. I’ve seen it recommended on several blogs and also by Stephanie Meyer. Looks intriguing and suspenseful.

Here’s a little synopsis: Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Kat's sister is chosen by lottery, Kat steps up to go in her place.

Happy reading!

Hosting!

Hey girls we still have a few months that need hosting! If you would like to host please click on the comments and put wich month you would like to host that is not already taken! Thank you.
For all that missed our meeting for Sarah's Key it was a hit, and a great read. Although we thought the author could have gone a few different ways with the book, especially the ending...I think we all agreed that it was a very sad but moving story in so many ways. can we say HARSH REALITY! wow, but what a great subject that most of us know little about. The people that suffered and died will always be remembered through books like this one, and for that we are gratefull. Thanks Karyn for hosting, it was great.

March Book Club!

March book club will be hosted by Karyn Anderson, the book she has chosen is...Sarah's Key, by Tatiana De Rosnay! It will be held Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00 at Karyn's home.

Hey Book Club Gals!!

Hey girls! I decided it would be a good ideah to start a book club blog! This way we can put the hosting schedule up so everyone knows, and this way everyone can post on this blog whatever they want in regards to book club....books they have picked, or book reccomendations, scheduling etc... I think this way it will be easy for everyone to know what is going on all the time!!!!
